The TV show Dancing on Ice is again facing chaos due to the coronavirus this year, as contestant Baez has been temporarily pulled from the show after catching the coronavirus.
The musician from Manchester’s Happy Monday took to the ice for the first time last evening at the first show in the series.
However, just a day after this it was announced that he has been forced to remain in isolation after being hit by Kovid-19.
The 57-year-old is partnered with defending skating champion Angela Egoun and is expected to return to TV screens on January 30 for the third week of the show.
Bandmate Roweta shared a message from Baez on Twitter this evening, saying he had missed out on training.
“I have tested positive,” Baez confirmed.
“I am disappointed because I am going to miss training, but I look forward to skating on the show again for the third week and I will be tuning in at home and cheering my teammates who are skating this weekend. Huh.”
An ITV spokesperson said: “We have stringent protocols in place to ensure the health and safety of all of our contributors and employees, which are regularly monitored and updated to reflect current guidelines.”

The Happy Monday star came at the bottom of the leader board in Sunday’s opening show.
After completing his routine, Baez told the judges that he was wearing head-to-toe protective clothing and was the first contestant to take ice in a helmet.
Dancing on Ice returns to ITV on Sundays at 6.30pm
