Crime in Medellin de Bravo is higher than the state police, the mayor admits

The mayor of Medellin de Bravo, Marcos Isleno Andrade, confirmed that he already has the support of Governor Cuitlhuac García Jiménez to promote the urbanization of the police for next year.

They indicated that they currently have 33 elements of the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) which are insufficient to protect the entire municipality, which is why common law crimes have become too numerous.

“We have 4, 5 to 6 robberies a day, what is happening is insane, because there is no patrol, no presence, I understand the state police with 33 elements for 100,000 inhabitants and 400 kilometers We are doing what we can with the square meters that we have are insufficient. We cannot forget the rural areas, because they do not have presence, they come and throw things at us on the streets of the neighbourhood. Gupt Gupt The graves, the different bodies that have been thrown at us in the communities,” he said.

He explained that the city council would have 20 million pesos to pay for the operations of the city police and that the state government would assist in the works so as not to affect Medellin’s infrastructure.

The idea is that there are at least 100 elements that make up a corporation.

“Through your support, it will help us because we are ready to put 20 million pesos into it for the issue of municipal public safety, to have the necessary equipment, not only the payroll issue, the governor is going to help us change this issue are going to work, it’s not going to cost us that much money that we’re going to invest in public safety”.

Isleno Andrade specified that the police would be integrated with graduates of the State Police Academy, which is also part of the Army and Navy, who already have training, but an open call to the population was also launched.
