“Crocodiles are innocent”: Rahul Gandhi targets PM Modi on Twitter

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deal with the government from Corona virus epidemic amid India’s fight against Kovid.

When Rahul Gandhi took charge against the Prime Minister, two other senior Congress leaders, P Chidambaram and Jairam Ramesh also joined him.

He said in a sharp tweet on Friday, “No vaccine. Lowest GDP. Highest Kovid deaths, Indian government response? PM weeps.” Also accused PM Modi of shedding “crocodile tears” while paying tribute to those who died of COVID.

On his Twitter handle, Rahul Gandhi also shared a chart on the global economic situation and the state of the epidemic, which was tweeted by Kaushik Basu, former chief economic advisor to the central government.

The chart shows India’s GDP to be minus eight, compared to Bangladesh’s 3.8, China’s 1.9 and Pakistan’s O.4.

In the same chart, India was shown to be the victim of 212 deaths in every million population of COVID-19, compared to 0.4 in Vietnam and two in China.

In another tweet, Rahul Gandhi targeted the PM, tweeting, “Due to mismanagement of Modi system, there is an epidemic of black fungus in India along with the Kovid epidemic.”

He said in a tweet in Hindi, “Along with the shortage of medicines for Kovid, there is also a huge shortage of medicines for this major disease in India. The Prime Minister is soon going to tackle the disease ‘Tali-Thali’ Playing).

Another Congress leader Jairam Ramesh also attacked the government over the alleged poor pace of anti-Kovid vaccination, saying the country needed vaccines, not crocodile tears.

Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram also cautioned the government that both the IMF and WHO had warned India of the consequences of the slow pace of vaccination.

He said in a series of tweets, “The Union health minister should support the claim of receiving 216 million vaccine doses to vaccinate the entire adult population by 31 December. So far, this is not the case.”

He said in a tweet, “We need data on the capacity of domestic producers, orders placed on the vaccine, import contracts, agreed delivery schedules, etc. Nothing has been disclosed yet.”

“The final warning to the government is that it will not be possible to stop the third wave if vaccination does not accelerate,” he said.

P Chidambaram said that the Modi government could not say that we did not expect these results. He said, ‘The government has already been warned.

The Congress has been critical of the government’s vaccination policy and the slow pace of vaccination.
