The researchers found that this risk was particularly high among people who ate processed meat more than four times a week.

Chen and study co-authors concluded: “We recommend a revamped diet with a supply of an additional healthy diet for IBD patients, either alone or in combination with pharmacotherapy, along with restricting processed meats. “
