The National Triathlon League started in Mérida with the Spanish Championship of Relay Triathlon in pairs, supersprint by clubs and 2×2 relay in pairs. The Albacete Ingatem Triathlon Club was present with its 16 elite triathletes from the men’s and women’s teams, along with the technical team.
In the first men’s doubles relay event, the men’s team of Andrés Hilario, Alexandre Nobre, Álvaro López, Gero Derete, Francisco Javier Pellegrin and Jaime Rodado finished seventh. In the second women’s doubles relay event, the women’s team composed of Paula Sánchez, Pier García, Eva Sánchez, Miriam Andreu, Lola Sánchez and Cristina González finished sixth.
In the Club Supersprint modality, the men’s team composed of Alexandre Nobre, Daniel Sánchez, Gero Derete, Jaime Rodado, Andrés Hilario and Óscar González finished seventh. In the women’s section, the team made up of Paula Sánchez, Lola Sánchez, Eva Sánchez, Laura Galgo, Pilar García and Miriam Andreu fought hard to finish fifth.
Finally, the final 2×2 doubles relay test was held. The men’s team, consisting of Francisco Javier Pellegrin, Dani Sánchez, Andrés Hilario, Alexandre Nobre, Álvaro López and Óscar González, took a hard-fought seventh place. The women’s team, composed of Lola Sánchez, Eva Sánchez, Paula Sánchez, Pilar García, Cristina González and Laura Gallego, took a highly controversial ninth place.
After playing the first three days out of a total of seven, the men’s and women’s teams of the Albacete Ingatem Triathlon Club are in sixth place in the standings. The next days of the league will be on June 24 and 25 in Roketas de Mar.
