HOLY SUNDAY – The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, affirms today at the 28th Ibero-American Summit that he can always count on his country in the effort to establish a more just, supportive and sustainable world.
At the highest level of the session of that meeting held in the Dominican Republic, it was announced that the largest of the Antilles will be the 24th Conference of Ibero-American Water Directors in November of this year.
He said his nation wants to provide the Ibero-American community with the training and development of specialized technical skills for management and comprehensive water management, with postgraduate courses, degrees and master’s degrees in university centers on the island.
With regard to the Cuban presidency of the Group of 77 + China, he stated that he does so with the conviction that solidarity and collaboration must prevail and that the Ibero-Americans, by promoting inclusive cooperation, can and must contribute. to achieve that common goal.
He also said, in the face of the government’s efforts to recall and impose a unique culture and models, the country under the leadership of the Community of Latin America and the Caribbean (Celac), the task of honoring and announcing Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace.
In his speech, Díaz-Canel also announced the intensity of the United States’ blockade against the Caribbean nation with the aim of sowing depression in Cuban families and strangling the island’s economy.
As another sign of the latent hatred of that policy, he referred to the hostility that struck Cuban baseball players and their families in the semifinals of the 5th World Baseball Championship held in Miami.
“The performance of the agreement, only because of the active incitement and involvement of the political authorities of that state,” said Díaz-Canel.
As an insult to the truth, the inclusion of Cuba in the list of spurious countries of the United States of America is alleged to be terrorism, which makes all economic and commercial activities more difficult, as well as the credit possibilities of Cuba. He thanked the great Ibero-American companies for their statements rejecting the blockade and their demands for the exclusion of Cuba from the US arbitrary list.
The Cuban head of state also reiterated his solidarity with the legitimate governments of Venezuela, Nicaragua and Bolivia, which have been subjected to persistent attempts at destabilization.
It accepted Argentina’s legitimate right to rule over its territory and reaffirmed its historic commitment to the self-determination and independence of the people of Puerto Rico.
Likewise, the peace process in Colombia has been approved; and he said that the Haitian people were always in favor of their judgment and domination.
The Dominican Republic recognized for the excellent results achieved by the leadership of the Ibero-American community in the last two years, and wanted Ecuador to succeed in its new functions for the time being.
