A Culver’s spokesperson said that the Curdburger disappeared from Culver’s locations in Madison as soon as it arrived, selling out by Friday afternoon after a day’s release.

Cheese fans flocked Friday to taste Culver’s new burger, which is topped with a fried cheese curd “crown” made from white and yellow curds topped with American cheese.

“As expected, the much-anticipated Culver’s Kordburger was a hit with guests, and is now officially sold out at locations all over the Madison area,” Culver spokesman Eric Scrum said in a statement. “We encourage guests in the surrounding areas to call their local Culver’s to inquire about Curdburger availability before heading to the restaurant in hopes of getting one.”

The limited edition treat was once an April Fools’ Day gimmick by Culver that went viral on social media. Although the burger was only in stores on Fridays in honor of National Cheese Curd Day, The Prairie du Sac-based chain hasn’t ruled out bringing back the Kyderburger in the future.
