The District Administrative Office of Health (DADIS) reports 39 new dengue cases in the Cartagena district in the last epidemiological week, one of which corresponds to severe dengue and no deaths. At the end of epidemiological week 35, a total of 1,885 dengue cases were registered in Cartagena and reported to the Public Health Surveillance System (Sivigila).

Of the total number of cases, 1,357 were classified as dengue without warning signs, 502 as dengue with warning signs and 26 cases as severe dengue.

As for the final classification of cases, 845 cases were confirmed by laboratory criteria, 66 cases were confirmed by epidemiological context and 974 cases remain probable in SIVIGILA. In epidemiological week 35 of 2023, the number of reported dengue cases continues to increase compared to the same period last year.
In terms of behavior when reporting severe dengue, a decrease of 33.3% was recorded compared to the immediate previous year. The same situation is recorded with regard to 2021, with a decrease of 54.4%.
Through DADIS, the dengue cases reported in SIVIGILA are monitored to ensure timely and appropriate care for each patient and also to allow the strengthening of prevention and control measures in the sectors where the outbreak is registered.
