Dalai Lama’s letter to Biden
In a letter to the President of the US, the Dalai Lama said, “At a time when our earth’s ecosystem is struggling with crisis, I am glad that you have included climate change as your priority and reintroduced the country into the Paris Climate Agreement Decided to add. Climate change is a serious threat to the entire world and the entire species, which needs immediate action.
The Lama said, ‘I appreciate the steps you have taken towards the betterment of America. I have been an admirer of your country, the people there, freedom, democracy, religious freedom and the rule of law prevailing there. The whole world has expectations from the democratic vision and leadership of America.
In such a letter, he wrote, ‘In such a challenging time, I am confident that you will contribute in shaping a peaceful world in which people suffering’ hunger, disease and violence ‘will get relief. These issues need to be resolved. The Dalai Lama said, ‘I thank you for supporting the people of Tibet for a long time. It is our good fortune that America, American people and its leaders got full support in the effort to protect our Buddhist culture, our culture of peace, non-violence and compassion.
