The broadcaster, 44, was apparently humiliated after Matt Taylor reminded viewers that he had not made it to the contest in time for Blackpool week.
Presenting his report from the iconic tower’s ballroom, Carol Kirkwood’s temporary replacement said it was a ‘shame’ how Dan ‘Strictly didn’t come here’.

Matt was on location at Blackpool Tower following the end of a three-week renovation plan, in which the couple danced behind him in celebration.
As Dan’s co-host Sally Nugent saw an organ on stage, she asked if it came through the floor.
Matt replied: ‘It does. It comes up partially in the morning when they are moving and it comes up through the floor. You have to come here Sally, it’s wonderful. It’s a shame that Dan didn’t come here for Strictly.
