The drought in many parts of our country caused a drop in almond production estimated by COAG (Coordinator of Farmers and Livestock Organizations) between 30% and 50% lower than the forecasts made.

In a statement published on their website, the AVA explained that in some cases the fruits waiting to be harvested were lost during the rains, with a consequent impact on production.
Similarly, the Union of Farmers also explained that the effects of DANA “caused a lower almond harvest than expected” in its area of ​​action, the Valencian Community. In this region the reduction in yield due to drought is 6%, the association estimates.
A situation combined with the effect of strong winds and rains in DANA, which dropped a part of the harvest on the ground, “making difficult the tasks of collecting almonds in the areas that produce our territory.”
