LOS ANGELES, September 20 (WNN) — dancing with the Stars Season 30 contestants Suni Lee and Jojo Siwa said the show, which premiered on Monday, is a true childhood dream come true. Both 18, Lee is a gold medal-winning gymnast and Siwa is a recording artist.
“I think it would be really cool to get the gold medal and the Mirror Ball,” Lee said of the dancing trophy on a Television Critics Association Zoom panel.
Siwa said that she grew up watching the show with her grandmother. Her television dance career began dance Moms When she was 12 years old.

Siwa is the first female contestant to dance with a female partner in 30 seasons. After coming out as LGBTQ, she said that the show gave her the choice of a male or female partner. Siwa said that he chose the woman to set an example for future seasons.
“I want to fix it for the people who come after me,” said Siwa.
Siwa, who is also dating Kylie Prev, who is also 18, said that he had a FaceTime conversation with Pree in which he assured his girlfriend that the relationship with his dance partner would be completely platonic.
“She’s been supportive non-stop,” Siwa said of Prev. “She was like, ‘Love, you’re going to be incredible, and what you’re doing with another girl on this show is so important. I’m so proud of you for that.'”
Host Tyra Banks, 47, said she felt dancing with the Stars The milestone will be important for LGBTQ inclusion. The show has had openly gay contestants in the past, but has been linked with the opposite sex.
“I think it’s going to save lives,” Banks said. “I think it’s going to change lives, and it’s going to be a lot of noise, and the noise that needs to be made.”
After acknowledging the social impact of including gay dance couples dancing with the Stars, Siwa said that she would be a dancer first in the show. Despite her previous dance experience, Siwa said she was nervous for the judges to investigate.
“They’re going to look at my feet, how straight they are on my feet, if they’re in ballroom shoes,” Siwa said. “Everything is going to be fine.”
Lee follows other Gymnast Dancing With the Stars contestants, such as Simone Biles, Nastia Liukin and Laurie Hernandez. Lee said that he spoke to her before the show started.
“They’ve all basically told me that everything I do on this show isn’t going to be as difficult as [what] I did in the Olympics or was preparing for the Olympics,” Lee said. “I’m just focused on staying in shape.”
Lee said dance can be more fun and expressive than formal gymnastics.
Siwa, who also competed on Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition And celebrity family feud, Said she would also focus on having fun dancing with the Stars.
“I like to look at every project I do and only remember the fun times, not the times when I’m nervous or stressed out,” she said.
Season 30 dancing with the Stars Will also coincide with Lee’s freshman year at Auburn University. She said she would continue to attend online classes while training and competing Dance.
“Trying to balance practice and then school at the same time, plus all the media, would be very difficult,” Lee said. “But, I also have a very good team behind me.”
Banks will have a second season as host of Season 30. dancing with the Stars. He took over for Tom Bergeron in 2020.
Banks said she knows that longtime fans of Bergeron, who hosted 28 seasons, haven’t fully warmed up yet. Banks said that changing the host is as important as changing the rules for the dancing couple.
“We must continue to grow,” Banks said. “There’s going to be a change where I won’t host anymore, and people will be angry.”
