Daniil Medvedev lost the grass-court final for the second time in a row after losing against Poland’s Hubert Herkaz in the final of the Halle Open in Germany on Sunday. Pole completely defeated the Russian, who won in straight sets 6-1, 6-4. During the final, the world No. 1 player had a warm moment with his coach, Gilles Cervara. Medvedev shouted loudly at Servara, and the French suddenly rose from his seat in the stands and left the court. Tennis TV has shared this video on its official Instagram handle.
“Medvedev’s coach has seen enough,” Tennis TV captioned the video.
After the match, Medvedev apologized to the crowd for “not making this match longer and more interesting” and admitted that it “wasn’t easy being with him on the court” this week.
Despite winning seven out of nine matches on grass courts this season, the Russian has failed to win a title, losing two consecutive finals.
Medvedev will not compete at Wimbledon this year after organizers banned Russian and Belarusian players from competing after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Medvedev will now be seen in action during the Mallorca Open starting June 22.
Harkaz, on the other hand, won the fifth title of his career, also defeating Australian Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Harkaz and his American teammate Sebastian Korda were beaten by Kazakhstan’s Andrey Golubev and Argentina’s Maximo González in the men’s doubles final in Halle.
