KJ Srivatsan, Jaipur: The war exercise between India and the US started on Monday at Mahajan Field Firing Range in Bikaner. This exercise will run from 8 to 21 February. It has been named as Maneuver-20. The soldiers of India and the United States are maneuvering with the battle tank as well as other deadly weapons. The aim is to defeat the enemy through a common operation by joint forces of different countries in the event of war.
This is the reason why the largest American striker tank in the Thar Desert was also seen running along with the big of India like Arjun and Sarathi. But everyone will keep an eye on 19 and 20 February. Because in these two days, in the Thar desert, an atmosphere of complete war will be seen. At that time both countries will be able to use their weapons and equipment. Also, co-ordination of helicopters and tanks will also be shown.
About two days ago, the US Army contingent reached Suratgarh for this Exercise-20, which includes a Brigade Headquarters, 2 Battalions, 3 Infantry Regiments, Stalker Brigade Team consisting of 240 US soldiers. It is the contingent of America’s oldest battalion, including women. It is called Infantry Battalion. In addition, there is a command of the Infantry Regiment. The squad also includes Striker Brigade Combat, who attacked from far off the ground. This team has also brought a tank with them.
The US Army has 9 striker brigades. Of these, 7 are in active mode and two are with the National Guard. The US is deploying them all over the world. The Striker Brigade is truly a group of light weapons and medium weight armored vehicles. It is completely different from Infantry and Armed. It specializes in rapid attack in confined areas.
The Indian Army is led by the 11th Battalion of the Saptashakti Command and the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles. At the same time, the US Army is commanded by 2 Infantry Battalions, 3 Infantry Regiments, 1.2 Striker Brigade Combat Team soldiers. The US Army has also brought strikers (armored vehicles) with them for maneuvers. This is the first time the US Army will employ a striker in this level of maneuvers.
This joint exercise is being carried out under the directions of the United Nations. Along with this, it is also being tested how well the armies of two different countries can complete a successful anti-insurgency campaign, humanitarian aid and disaster relief. Traditional, non-traditional and hybrid models of both will be tried during combat exercises.
Many aerial platforms are also included during this warfare, ie these are the exercises of the Army but the role of the Air Force in such wars will be decided. This is the reason that Indian Army recently joined. The new indigenous advanced light helicopter WSI Rudra Mi-17 Chinook is a US Army Striker Striker Tank Wheel Armed Fighting Vehicle. Running on eight wheels, the speed of this tank is 97 kilometers per hour on American roads. It is a tank hinged on tires and tubes. At the same time, the vehicle and the BMP-2 mechanized infantry combat vehicle of the Indian Army is being used.
Along with hoisting the national flag of both the countries on Monday, many weapons including these tanks were demonstrated. The special thing is that after the beginning of the Corona period, the US military is practicing for the first time in another country. Recently, the Indian Air Force also conducted a joint exercise with the French Air Force personnel in the name of Desert Night-2021. For this, the soldiers of Strikkor present here in India and America will try to achieve this by trying to understand the war skills of both the countries by practicing day and night in the sandbales of Rajasthan.
This is the biggest exercise of this year by the Indian Army. A warfare about which Pakistan and China have become sleepy. Why fly? Because the Strike Corps of a large contingent of Indian Army soldiers, with their full strength and advanced weapons, are engaged in a battle by creating such an imaginary war zone strategy.
Even though the land belonged to India in the war, all the AC conditions and atmosphere were created, as is present in countries like Pakistan and China. Here, not once but tens of times, with the changing strategy of moment, within 48 hours, within 300 hours, an attempt will be made to meet the target of fighting and destroying its targets in 300 kilometers of Pakistani territory.
The soldiers of the armies of both the countries will try to test their firepower and strength with the help of fighter aircraft, helicopters and topos, using sophisticated weapons in the desert and detecting targets by daytime, sunset and nighttime. . The exercise will also test for seamless coordination between artillery, armored and mechanized forces, army air defense, attack aviation helicopters from Army Aviation, and special forces with airforce resources.
Combined weapon cohesion during the exercise is an integrated demonstration of several rocket launch systems, as well as the recently incorporated self-propelled artillery gun system K-9 Vajra. Which is also being called the game changer of Strike Corps after Bofors. The strength of the indigenous attack helicopter ALH Mark 4 (Advance Light Helicopter) ‘Rudra’ will also be seen in the exercise.
A 70 mm rocket capable of annihilating the enemy in the ground and air, by destroying enemy tanks, bullets and missiles in the air, showed that the strength of India could not be underestimated. Perhaps due to these characteristics of Rudra, it is also considered to be well-versed in executing surgical strikes like action on short notice. With the Vajra, the capabilities of this troop of real-time warfare operations are also being tested through the indigenous advanced light helicopter ‘Rudra’.
Anyway, this exercise between India and America is considered important for 3 reasons. The first Indian Army is currently working on the IBG. In it, a small group of troops who specialize in different fields will be formed. It will strike the enemy, making a perfect synergy with complete preparation. This war exercise is also happening along the same lines. Secondly, the army of both countries will get to learn a lot from each other by attacking methods based on different strategies, and thirdly, its importance also increases because India and America continue to dominate the Indian Ocean.
