Deadpool 3 has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation since it was announced that it would be Marvel Studios’ first R-rated film. Now, director Shawn Levy talks more about his plans and how he balances the spotlight between two iconic characters: Wade Wilson and Wolverine.
In a recent interview with Collider, Shawn Levy revealed that Deadpool 3 will be an R-rated bloodbath. This rating is essential to capture the essence of Deadpool’s character, known for his irreverent style and dark humor, as well as his penchant for violence. The R rating will allow the film to stay true to the source material and deliver the authentic experience that fans have come to expect.
This is what the director himself explained.
“Deadpool 3 is an R-rated bloodbath and will be a head-to-head that will give Deadpool and Wolverine an equal share of the spotlight. Because you have two big movie stars together in a movie that playing their most iconic roles: that’s heaven for directors. That’s why the story, the tone, the movie itself relies on the gift of having Deadpool and Wolverine co-star in a movie for the first time. That’s why We will never run away from that.”
“For me, Deadpool 1 is a perfect movie, so I’m not going to change the DNA of that franchise. Our film is raw, bold, very R-rated. We did our best not to shoot it on sound stages that there is a digital environment. The Internet proves it by revealing the images of our filming. Thank you, Internet!

So far, we have few plot details, but the story will revolve around Deadpool and Wolverine’s battle for the multiverse. Which will be a great preview for Avengers: Secret Wars and even the introduction of mutants in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
