New Delhi: A wanted criminal escaped from police custody during a shootout outside GTB Hospital in Shahdara district on Thursday.
Police said that a team was carrying Kuldeep Mann alias Fajja, who was close to the capital’s most-wanted criminal Jitendra Mann alias Gogi.
At 12.24 pm, police were taking Kuldeep to the hospital for outside treatment. As soon as they reached the hospital premises, five men opened fire on the police team in an SUV to free the accused.
The police retaliated, killing one of the attackers. Others, including Kuldeep, fled from the spot.
According to the information received, Kuldeep is a member of Jitendra Gogi Gang and he has more than 70 cases like murder and many other cases. After the incident, the police of Delhi and UP are on alert. Simultaneously, intensive search operations are going on along the Delhi-UP border. Police suspect Apsara and Loney may flee UP from the border, as both borders are close to GTB Hospital.
On March 3, 2020, Kuldeep was arrested by Special Cell from Gurugram along with Jitendra Gogi, the number one criminal of Delhi’s Wanted List. A total of 4 gangsters were arrested who had a total reward of one and a half million rupees. This was the first arrest of such big gangsters together in Delhi. At the time of the arrest, Gogi was at number one in the most wanted list of Delhi Police while Kuldeep was at number six, with 6 imported pistols and 70 live cartridges recovered.
