Demand for this electric car increased, highest booking in August

MG Motors’ ZS EV is one of the few electric vehicles sold in India. Recently, there has been an increase in the demand for this electric SUV. According to the company, in the month of August, MG ZS EV has got the highest number of bookings so far. Rajiv Chhawa, President and Managing Director, MG Motor India said that in August, the car crossed the 700 booking mark. He announced this through a social media post.

Electric vehicles are just the beginning in India. However, the demand for electric vehicles has increased due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel for some time now. Even in the financial year 2020-21, the sales of electric four-wheelers have seen a growth of 53 per cent as compared to the previous financial year. At present, the Tata Nexon EV remains the best selling electric passenger car in the country. The Nexon EV is selling around 500 units in a month, while the MG ZS EV sells 250 to 300 units on an average.

Let us know that the updated MG ZS EV was launched in India in February 2021. This electric SUV comes in two trims – Excite and Exclusive. Its price starts at Rs 20.99 lakh, and the top variant is priced at Rs 24.18 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It gets a battery pack of 44.5 kWh, which generates 141 bhp and 353 Nm of peak torque. On full charge, this electric SUV will get a maximum range of 419 km.

Features
Talking about the features, it has an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Apart from this, a panoramic sunroof, inbuilt air purifier, cruise control, auto AC, projector headlamps and connected car technology are available. For safety, the ZS EV gets six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, electronic stability control (ESC) and hill descent control.
