In the middle of a public street, in front of the presbytery of the Bolombolo district, the former commander of the police station, Dairo Antonio Acevedo Álvarez, was arrested by agents of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Gender CTI and the Military Gaula.
The investigation carried out by the CTI indicates that Acevedo Álvarez allegedly sexually abused a police assistant who worked at the municipality’s police station. At the time of the events, Acevedo Álvarez was the mayor of the station and, according to the evidence collected by the CTI during his time as head of the station, he would have systematically sexually harassed his subordinate and offered her benefits in exchange for proposals of a sexual nature.
By not complying with the then mayor’s offers, the assistant would have been the victim of verbal and psychological abuse until Acevedo Álvarez finally allegedly sexually abused her, according to the investigation.
After being the victim of violent sexual acts, the young assistant began suffering severe symptoms of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts, according to trial records.
For all these reasons, the former police officer was captured and, at the time of his arrest, was carrying a 32mm Smith & Wesson revolver with six cartridges without permission to carry.
There is great turmoil in the community of Venice. It turns out that the former police officer accused of alleged sexual abuse is a candidate for city council of the Democratic Center party, which gave him the endorsement and place 8 on the list of eleven candidates.
The Democratic centrist candidate now faces charges of serious sexual assault and is waiting for a guaranteed judge to decide whether he will be sent to prison.
The candidate has campaigned for the council to ensure that he will work for the safety of the community, saying that as station commander in Bolombolo, he has worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of everyone in the community.
