Di Maria brings the class Juventus was looking for

MILAN ( Associated Press) – “Fideo” dazzled in its debut.

Angel Di Maria appeared with clarity every moment for Juventus on their Serie A first date. The Argentine attacker signed one goal and assisted another for a 3–0 win against Sassuolo, which featured another version of Vecchia Signora after a pass season in which the boring adjective was his hallmark.

And so the injury he suffered is mortal.

Di Maria had to leave after 66 minutes due to discomfort in the left joint and was ruled out for the trip to Sampdoria on Monday. He is expected to return to Roma at the end of next week based on the medical tests he is to do.

“Maybe I should have kicked him out when we went 3-0, but he was enjoying himself,” said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Di Maria joined the casualties of the injury that reduced Juve. Paul Pogba, another newly acquired player, as well as Federico Chiesa, Cao Jorge and goalkeeper Wojciech Szczny are among those left out.

However, Bianconeri withdrew Moise Keane and Adrian Rabiot after missing out on debut due to suspension.

Di Maria’s introduction to Juventus last month did not go unnoticed by Di Maria, who arrived on a free transfer after seven years with Paris Saint-Germain. The signing of the 34-year-old was overshadowed by Pogba’s visit to Turin on the same day to sign his contract shortly after.

But fans – and rivals – at Allianz Stadium rejoiced in an excellent Di Maria on Monday. Active in everything, fudge defenders and catalyst for every gambling arrival.

He opened the scoring and came close to raising the score before putting in an excellent pass, with Dusan Vlahovic scoring the second goal of the night.

“It was an incredible feeling to play with Angel Di Maria, a real pleasure,” Vlahovic said. “I want to thank you for your help and I look forward to receiving more.”

“I think we understand each other amazingly, but most importantly, the team is connected and wins. Angel played an exceptional match”, he said.

Not everything was rosy for Juventus. They went from low to high and Sassuolo missed good opportunities to advance.

Everything changed after the hydration break in the middle of the first half. The team’s attitude changed after Allegri’s talks.

“He shot very little, we didn’t have control over the match. I gave Di Maria a more open play and put (Juan) Cuadrado on the other side. I didn’t say anything about the other world,” he said. Allegri said. “A small adjustment to cover the spaces better. From there we got our best game.”

Juventus’ other rivals for the title – Napoli, Roma and Milan’s two City clubs – also won the opening weekend of calcium. It was the first time in more than 50 years that a first date had nothing to do with it.

Inter host Spezia on Saturday, while defending champions Milan meet Atalanta from Monza and Napoli the next day. Roma will face Cremonese on Monday.
