Actor Dia Mirza, who is expecting her first child with her husband Vaibhav Rekhi, said none of the Covid-19 vaccines currently used in India have been tested on pregnant women and lactating mothers. She added that her doctor advised her not to vaccinate until the required clinical trials were done.
Dia responded to a Twitter user who posted about an increase in maternal deaths due to Covid-19. “I would like to reiterate the need to protect pregnant women against new infections by following all COVID-appropriate behaviors, the need to continue effective vaccination among pregnant women, and the need to delay fertility treatments as infections increase,” I said. the Twitter user wrote.
Dia tweeted it again, writing: ‘This is really important. Must read and note that none of the vaccinations currently used in India have been tested on pregnant and lactating mothers. My doctor says we cannot take these vaccines until the required clinical trials have been done. ”
Dia is expecting her first child with Vaibhav and announced the pregnancy last month with a photo of her rocking her baby bump. The photo was taken while the couple was on their honeymoon in the Maldives.
Recently, Dia responded to criticism for allegedly hiding the fact that she had a baby until her marriage to Vaibhav. She maintained that her pregnancy was not the reason they got married, adding that there should never be a shame to this beautiful journey.
