There were 14 games canceled before the sale, some already completed and some still in progress. Let’s see what they are like and whether you will buy any of them when they are officially launched.
Xbox games are cancelled
Although some of them will be exclusive to Xbox, others are planned to be released on different platforms. However, the truth is that everything you see below did not end up hitting the market.
The complete list is as follows:
- 100 bullets
- APB: All Points Bulletin
- The Avengers
- Brothers In Arms: Angry 4
- The Dark Knight
- Gears of War: Exile
- Lords of the Fallen
- Mortal Kombat X
- NBA Elite 11
- Project Milo
- Project Spark
- Saints Row: Money Shot
- Saints Row: The Cooler
- Scarface: The World Is Yours
There are other titles that do not appear in this list, but the most famous, either because of official confirmation or because it is about to be released, is this one.
In bold we see 2, that is exclusive projects for Xbox 360 and that ultimately never saw the light.
The first of them, Gears of War: Exile This is a title from the Epic Games company that will continue the Gears of War saga. In this case, its launch will be exclusive to Xbox through the Kinect platform. Although it was confirmed by its developer, in 2012 the definitive cancellation was announced and it was never completed.
the other, Project Milo, a project developed by Lionhead Studios for the Xbox 360. It originally appeared in 2001 as a confidential item from the company under the alias “Dimitri.” However, it was released to the public at E3 2009 as “Project Milo”, coinciding with the launch of Kinect. The game uses sensors and motion detection, something new at the time but also the reason for its cancellation due to the problems and difficulties it caused in its development.

Among other games on the list, we were surprised by titles like NBA Elite 11, Brothers In Arms: Furious 4 or Mortal Kombat X, because they are supported by important companies with experience. All of them were canceled before they were released and left many wanting to try it.
These are some of the releases that were presented and did not end up on sale. Think of the number of projects that have been started and that we will not know, because if all of them do not go ahead when they are officially announced, the number of them that have never been told must be very large. I am sure that in all of them there are some very interesting ones, but we will not see them anymore.
Not only the Xbox has failures, other consoles such as the PlayStation or even laptops such as the Nintendo Switch have seen how millions of investors have never profited from game ideas that are impossible or that on paper are too more interesting than seeing their outcome. Many of them are finished, however, in order not to have a bad launch and get a bad reputation, they prefer not to show it to the public.
