DIRECTV, the leading media engineer in connectivity, entertainment and production of content and information, expanded its service portfolio in Cartagena and other cities in Colombia by presenting the new residential fiber optic internet service that will offer its customers connectivity solutions high speed and stability.
DFIBRA is 100% fiber optic internet, enabling excellent quality of service in terms of stability for homes, offices and businesses in Cartagena and other regions of the country. DIRECTV’s new offering includes four service plans of 100, 200, 300 megabytes and is already available in more than 13 cities and 17 municipalities in Colombia, including:
Cartagena, Barranquilla, Cali, Barrancabermeja, Cúcuta, Jamundí, Medellín, Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Girón, Florencia, Piedecuesta, Valledupar, Villavicencio, Soledad, Manizales, Santa Marta and other cities.
The launch of DFIBRA in Cartagena is part of the investment and development plan of Vrio Corp – the parent company of DIRECTV Latin America – in Colombia and the region, based on a firm commitment to bring digital connectivity to more people and places and help reduce the digital divide.
Vrio offers connectivity services in Argentina, Ecuador and Peru and is also starting operations in Chile. The company also offers fiber broadband internet in Brazil through SKY Fibra.

The wholesale company currently has more than 3 million homes in 59 cities equipped with fiber to the home. With its open network, DIRECTV will enable homes and businesses to be connected with the most advanced data transmission and Internet technology.
