Disney has responded to Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage, who called the company’s remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs “f****** backwards.”
Dinklage, who is best known for playing Tyrion Lannister in the epic fantasy series and who has a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia itself, studio accused of double standards By supporting racial diversity, but failing to address harmful stereotypes.
Latina actress Rachel Ziegler will play the princess in the live-action remake of the 1937 animated film, while Israeli star Gal Gadot will play the Evil Queen.
In response to the actor, Disney stated that it is “consulting with members of the Dwarf community” on the film, adding: “To avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, we are working with these seven characters as a separate character.” taking perspective.
“We look forward to sharing more as we move forward in production of the film after a long development period.”
Speaking earlier on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, Dinklage said: “There’s a lot of hypocrisy going on for me to say.
“No offense to anything, but I was a little surprised” [the fact that] He was very proud to cast a Latino actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

He continued: “You may be progressive in a way but you’re still making the f****** back story of the Seven Dwarfs living in the cave.
“What the f*** are you doing, man. Have I done nothing to further the cause from my soap box?
“I guess I’m not loud enough.
“If you tell the story of Snow White with the most f***** up, progressive spin? Let’s do it. All in.”
There have been no updates so far on how the Seven Dwarfs will be portrayed in the film, which is slated to release in 2023.
