Disney reveals pricing for its new, highly anticipated Star Wars Hotel The cost of immersing yourself in a galaxy far, far away won’t be cheap — and for a few days — on Wednesday.
The Disney World-based Hotel Galactic Starcruiser is essentially a cruise ship set in space, with a price to match. The company says it’s “the most impressive Star Wars story ever,” and you might have to pay $6,000 for two nights to participate.
The hotel, which opens in spring 2022, is billed by Disney as “a revolutionary new two-night experience where you and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure.”
Despite being on dry land, pricing is similar to Disney’s cruise ships model at sea: a set price for a multi-day trip, which includes entertainment, food, and drinks.
The company revealed sample cabin rates for the hotel on Wednesday: for a two-night stay, $4,809 for two guests in the cabin, $5,299 for three guests (two adults and one child) and $5,999 for four guests. (three adults, one child).
So what does $6,000 get you in space?
According to Disney, that pricing includes “ongoing, immersive and interactive entertainment where the choices determine your experience,” your food (excluding alcohol) and admission to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Star Wars-themed land. Home of Galaxy’s Edge.
Disney notes that “rates vary depending on your trip departure date, the number of guests in your cabin, and your cabin type.”
Hotels are the latest way for Disney to help bring its parks and resorts to life and grow them for the future.
It follows the beginning of 2019 galaxy edge, which was the company’s biggest expansion to date in its parks. Land uses innovative technology and elaborate design to wrap guests in an experience that feels more like an immersive theater than a theme park. The new hotel wants to expand on that Star Wars experience.
Disney is integrating one of its most beloved franchises into its parks Marvel’s Avengers Campus, which opens on June 4 at Disneyland, California.
Updating its parks and resorts is crucial for Disney’s media empire after a year in which the unit was hit particularly hard by the pandemic, facing months of closures and widespread layoffs.
Disney Parks President Josh D’Amaro Told CNN Business said in April that the future of Disney’s parks and resorts is “going to be fresh, it’s going to be full of technology. It’s going to be incredibly relevant to guests around the world.”
“Every single day, these parks are changing,” he said.
