Dolph Ziggler made a crucial mistake that affected his WWE career before being released from his contract, the Hall of Famer says

Hall of Famer Booker T believes that Dolph Ziggler made a mistake that could affect his WWE career.

Ziggler joined the Stamford-based company in 2004. Although he initially made his main roster debut as a member of The Spirit Squad, The Showoff he returned to development after the group disbanded. He was reintroduced on RAW as Dolph Ziggler in 2008. The 43-year-old wrestler played the same character for almost a decade and a half until he was released from his contract a few days ago.

Discussing Ziggler’s release on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T noted that the lack of character development on The Showoff could affect his career.

“Dolph Ziggler, he’s been in “neutral” for the last 10 years (laughs). It’s like he got to the point where he just said, ‘I’m going to extend, pretty much ride this as long as I can.’ Dolph is one of those guys that never changes. You know, his look. It’s always the same guy all the time. And for me, you know what I always say. If you don’t change those time, times pass you by. “You have to know how you can keep up with what’s going on, you know, outside, the music world, the entertainment world and so on,” he said.

The Hall of Famer added:

“And I think Dolph Ziggler has continued that attitude in his time. Now, is he a guy that can go out and wrestle at a very high level in the middle of the ring? Yes! Dolph is a guy that can go out and work with anybody. But then Dolph became the guy that if you had to bring somebody you called Dolph. And I say that because sometimes you find yourself putting yourself in that position when you don’t know how the times change.

Booker T says Dolph Ziggler is fine after his release from WWE

On the same episode of the Hall of Fame podcast, current NXT commentator Booker T also addressed Dolph Ziggler’s future following his departure from the Stamford-based company.

The WWE legend revealed that he believes the Showoff will be “good for life.”

“Again, I think Dolph Ziggler is a great guy as well. I think Dolph is smart. He’s a smart guy. He’s also a college educated guy. He’s not just a fighter. So, I see Dolph doing well in life, period,” he said.
