As Russian troops huddle menacingly on the border with Ukraine and the US and NATO prepare for a possible invasion, Donald Trump Jr. can only think of one possible culprit (that no one else can think of): Hunter Biden.
“Will Hunter’s lucrative and shady business dealings with AF in Ukraine lead us eventually to war with Russia?” Trump Jr. asked, without giving a single reason why this is so.
In fact, it was his father who, as president, boasted of his friendship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, a clear aggressor in the situation in Ukraine, and who accepted Putin’s denials about the Kremlin’s interference in the 2016 US elections, despite the findings of his own intelligence.
Former President Donald Trump also denounced Ukraine and was impeached for threatening to withhold vital military aid to prevent a Russian invasion unless Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky launches a groundless probe into presidential candidate Joe Biden’s son Hunter.
Hunter Biden served on the board of directors of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma for five years ending in 2019. The Trump campaign tried to portray Hunter Biden as a schemer who hoped to exploit his father’s possible influence, but no connection to corruption. ever appeared, and now the connection to a possible Russian invasion seems even more outlandish.
Even Florida businessman Lev Parnassus, a Ukrainian-American with ties to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, reminded Donald Jr. that it was his father who was “charged with impeachment because he refused military aid to Ukraine.”
Parnas has admitted to working with Giuliani to try and pressure Ukrainian officials into investigating Joe and Hunter Biden in 2019. Parnas, who said Donald Trump knew everything they were doing, was convicted last October of illegally transferring money from a Russian financier to Republican politicians in the US, among other charges.
The other critics on Twitter were having a field day.
