Lake Mead left his body
The level of the largest reservoir in the United States is lower than it has been in 75 years. Now the search is piling up.

The third body was found in three months at Lake Mead, a US reservoir near the gambling city of Las Vegas, amid falling water levels. According to the US National Park Administration, a witness alerted officials earlier in the week and informed them of the discovery of human remains. Forensic medicine must now clarify the cause of death. The National Park Administration initially did not provide any further information in view of the ongoing investigation.
The water level of Lake Mead has dropped significantly due to the ongoing drought in the western United States. This led to a terrifying discovery in early May: on the dry shore of the reservoir, day trippers discovered a barrel containing the remains of a man, probably dated in the late 1970s or early 1980s. I was shot in the head. Las Vegas was an organized crime hotspot at the time of the murder.
A few days after the body was found in the barrel, another body was found. There is no evidence of crime here. Officials had already said in May that they expected more bodies to be found in view of the falling water level.
as well as an important economic factor
Lake Mead is the largest reservoir in the United States. It was built in the 1930s as part of the Hoover Dam project and provides drinking water to 25 million people. But due to drought, the water level has come down to its lowest level since 1937.
Water levels are likely to continue to decline until autumn or early winter, when water runoff equals or exceeds the levels being lost through evaporation. “It’s not the kind of record we like to break,” said Joel Ferry, director of the Utah Natural Resources Authority. “Urgent action is needed to help protect and conserve this extremely important resource. It is clear that the lake is in peril.”
The largest salt lake in the Western Hemisphere is not only very important from an ecological point of view, but also an important economic factor for Utah. According to the state government, it generates about $1.3 billion in revenue annually through sectors such as mining, fishing and tourism.
Large parts of the western United States have long suffered from drought. This causes water levels to drop dramatically in rivers and important reservoirs such as Lake Mead and Lake Powell. According to climatologists, the region has had periods of drought for more than 20 years in history; But they are getting worse due to global warming.
