Dug Days: Carl’s Date, the short film about Carl’s first date (UP), is now on Disney+

Did you cry while watching UP? If you are fans of the Pixar film, get your tissues ready because the short film “Dug Days: Carl’s Date,” which tells the story of Carl’s first date after his wife’s death, is now available on Disney+ Latin America.

In the short film, which follows the thread of the Dug Days series released in 2021, we see Carl reluctantly agreeing to a date with a friend and worried about having no idea how dating works these days. Dug, his pet and friend, helps calm his nerves before the appointment and even gives him advice.

The short film was written and directed by Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning Bob Peterson, who also provides the voice of protagonist Dug. Peterson is already a well-known name at Pixar studios. He has worked as a voice actor and screenwriter for Pixar for many years. He is the voice of Geri in the animated chess short Geri’s Game (1997), Roz in Monsters Inc (2003) and Monsters University (2013), Mr. Ray in Finding Nemo (2003) and Finding Dory (2016). ) and of course Dug in Up (2009), which he also co-wrote.

Dug Days is a short film series that follows the misadventures of Dug, Up’s dog. Each short film depicts everyday events that occur in Dug’s backyard, all from his perspective. There are five chapters in total and all of them are also available on Disney+.

Carl’s Date is the latest production in the Dug Days universe and focuses on the character of Carl. The short film promises to be one of the most emotional chapters as it is his first date since the death of his wife Ellie, to whom he was married for most of his life.
