October 1 (WNN) — dancing with the Stars Contestant Cody Rigsby says he has COVID-19.
The Peloton instructor tested positive for COVID-19 after her partner on the show, professional dancer Cheryl Burke, announced she had a successful case of the virus.
Rigsby shared the news in an Instagram post on Thursday.
“Hello guys, I wanted to check in with you to share some news. While I’m fully vaccinated and taking many precautions while following CDC guidelines, I recently tested positive for COVID19, Rigsby wrote.
“In order to properly rest and recover, as well as avoid exposing others, I will take a break in the coming days,” he said. “I appreciate all your support and I’ll be back as soon as I’m ready.”
Rigsby said he had previously tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year. He is now experiencing “really mild symptoms”, which include “congestion, a slight headache, cough”.
Rigsby said he is uncertain about his future dancing with the Stars.
“As far as my luck on Dancing with the Stars goes, we’re still trying to figure it out, so please be patient with that answer,” he said.
Burke announced in a video on Instagram on Sunday that she tested positive for COVID-19 and would be in quarantine for 10 days.
“The PCR test came back, and it came back positive,” Burke said. “I just feel so bad. I feel so bad for Cody. I feel like I’m letting him down.”
