Eamon Holmes debuts as GB News breakfast presenter

Eamonn Holmes has claimed that he was given “no reason” for his shock ax from ITV’s This Morning.

The presenter had co-hosted the show with his wife, Ruth Langsford, for years, but The Mirror exclusively broke the news that he had dropped out of the show and started working with GB News.

Sources at the time said his exit from This Morning “marks the end of an era”.

And now, on his exit from the ITV show, Eamon says he was never given a reason why he didn’t continue with the daytime show, because he believes that the way he let her go, He has “issues” with his owners.

Speaking to The Times, he explained: “I don’t have a problem with that. I just have issues why they can’t tell you your time is up. Just talk, no talk. I’m not given That’s why I was blocked.”

At the time his exit was confirmed, ITV wished him well in a statement.

He has since moved to GB News, but he admits that getting started is tough.

“Early starts take their toll, but knowing that you’re meeting with one of your best friends makes work a lot of fun and time flies,” he explained, “evening can be a little more difficult. My biggest fear about what’s next is insomnia and what feels like a ‘sleep hangover’ the next day.”

When his new role was announced, Eamonn admitted that he was thrilled to join GB News.

“I’ve spent my career on broadcast and start-ups before, and GB News is one of the most exciting yet,” he said.
