If you’re an astronomy enthusiast, it’s time to prepare yourself for another spectacular cosmic event – the Earthshine Moon. This celestial event will be seen till July 5.
What is Earthshine Moon?
The Earthshine Moon is known as the phenomenon of a New Moon. This occurs when sunlight reflects off the Earth to form a shining moon. The light reflected towards the Moon makes it the brightest and you should definitely not miss out on this sight over the weekend.
Interestingly, the brightest star you can see in Leo – ‘Regulus’ Earth’s moon remains about five degrees from the Moon during 2022.

It is important to note that Earth’s Moon is not usually visible to the naked eye. This is because the shining Moon is between the Earth and the Sun.
The strength of the Moon’s luminosity will also vary throughout the year as the image from Earth varies according to the position of its orbit.
Where to watch Earthshine Moon online?
The Earthshine Moon can be seen in the western sky till July 5. If you want to see the new phase Moon at its best, you can see it in areas with low pollution levels.
Using a telescope or binoculars will help you capture the cosmic event in full glory.
Since the celestial phenomenon is unlikely to be observed in India, you can watch it online.
To see the shining moon, you can stream the video on YouTube and other social media platforms as the US space agency NASA is yet to share any confirmation about the event’s streaming.
