Former Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard reported that the next September 18 will create its own political movement and added that it will only formalize what was created during Morena’s internal process to determine who will be the party’s presidential candidate in 2024.
“Starting from September 18, we will organize and formalize our political movement, we will continue to be part of it, comrades and the voice of Morena, (the others) are still part of comrades, part of Green, comrades. in PT, but we have a reason” , he assured in a press conference.
“Then we will explore how to express it. In fact, what we will do is to formalize what is already integrated in this process, that is, those who are ready to continue this process,” he added.
The former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that his political movement will be called “Progressive Movement”.
After Ebrard presented a challenge for Morena to declare nullity and ordered the return of the internal process in which Claudia Sheinbaum was elected as coordinator of the Defense Committees of the Fourth Transformation, on Wednesday, September 6, today, the chancellor assured that Morena’s response to this legal resource will determine its permanence.
“Our recourse to action will depend on the answer that Morena has (…) if you think that if the incidents that happened in the process remain the same, then I no longer have an interest in Morena,” he said.
He assured that if the irregularities he and his team denounced are given a naturalization letter, all rights will be lost. efforts made in Morena by the Fourth Amendment.
Previously, the former chancellor accused various irregularities, among which the alleged involvement of the Morena Survey Commission, led by the former mayor of Tlalpan, Ivonne Cisneros Luján, in favor of the former head of government.
As well as the alleged intervention of the Welfare Secretariat, led by Ariadna Montiel, and various public officials such as the so-called ‘Servants of the Nation’ in favor of Claudia Sheinbaum.
