It doesn’t get much better for excitement/panic than in a game 7. The Edmonton Oilers are looking to punch up their ticket in the second round tonight after playing a strong Game 6 on the road to force this Game 7.

The series has been a previous and fourth series with the Kings winning Game 1, Oilers winning 2 and 3, LA winning 4 and 5, then Oilers winning Game 6.

Edmonton Oilers have to score first

So far in this entire series, the team which has scored the first goal has won the game. The Oilers had a poor start to every game except for six. Nice to see they had one when they really needed a good start.

This game is as important as the last game, so I can see the Edmonton Oilers flying by. The home crowd should be behind them so that “take out” is not a problem.

I want to see Woodcroft do what he did with McDavid and Dressital in the last game. He rotated them in every row. This not only gave him more snow time and opportunity, but it also took him away from Los Angeles’ top front lines.

Darnell back in nurse line-up

Darnell Nurse will return to the line-up tonight, after missing the last game from the suspension of a beheading Philippe Danault.

It was a very selfish and stupid game by the nurse to do this and it gave her her place in one of the very important games. Luckily for her the rest of the team played very well and managed to win.

Tonight I hope the nurse comes and plays her best game of the series. He will be playing for his entire team because he knows how much influence he can have when he is on the line-up.

play through pain

Leon Draistal was seen feeling restless after the play on Wednesday night. The good news for Oilers fans is that they have finished the game. It sounds like it could be a problem with the lower leg or ankle.

If anyone’s ever hurt an ankle while wearing skates, you know the pain doesn’t start until you take off your boot. Once the skate comes off the swelling is over and that is when the discomfort can really start.

The good news is that the Edmonton Oilers have better medical staff than regular people. So hopefully he has recovered enough in the last 24 hours and is healthy enough to play.

I guess not being in the line-up tonight would mean not being able to skate to Dressital. An injured Dreitel is still better than almost every player on the Oilers roster.

Even if his skating gets affected, he will still be able to face the powerplay and the offensive zone. Not as much skating is needed in these scenarios.

Which team will appear?

As I mentioned earlier the team that scores first has won every game in this series. Also the only time the Oilers were in control in the first period was Game 6.

I believe even if the Oilers play like Game 6 and drop the first goal tonight, they still have a chance to win. As long as the goal scored is an earned goal. If the Edmonton Oilers gift the Kings a goal tonight, I think they will be in trouble.

A lot of mistakes have been committed by the Oilers in this series. From Game 1 where Mike Smith gave the puck away or Game 5 when the Oilers pucked on their blue line for back to back goals.

It’s a simple plan if the Edmonton Oilers want to win the game. All they have to do is not to beat themselves up. In my opinion the Kings have not played well enough to beat the Oilers if they play well.

All the losses for the Oilers are self borne. Play a clean mistake free game and the Edmonton Oilers will be preparing for Round 2. A game full of mistakes and they will be cleaning their locker room.
