El Chaco was the Norte Grande province that received the most federal resources in October

In October, Chaco was the province that received the most federal resources out of the ten jurisdictions that make up Norte Grande, a territorial block that includes six districts of the NOA and four of the NEA.

According to a report by the consultancy Politicón Chaco, during the month of analysis, automatic transfers of resources of national origin distributed to the provinces and CABA totaled $677,002.4 million (a 106.3% year-on-year variation in nominal terms, that is in real terms). It was an increase of 9.5% – that is, netting out the effect of inflation – the consumer price index for October is projected to increase by 6.5%.

Within this framework, the consolidated Norte Grande regional block raised a total of $232,878.1 million (+106.7% in nominal terms and +7.7% in real terms). Norte Grande’s share of total distribution is 34.4%, the same as last month.

Known data on transfers of national origin to provinces places Chaco as the jurisdiction that received the most resources in Norte Grande in October.

Given that, for the purposes of this report, the CPI for each sector is calculated based on that, the largest increases in NEA shown so far have a direct effect on shipments measured in constant currency.

The region shipped $101,820.5 million in total, while NOA received $131,057.7 million. The growth in real prices was 6.6% and 8.6%, respectively. Both regional CPI increases are below the total of 24 jurisdictions due to the disproportionate impact, but the problem of inflation is felt even more in the NEA in terms of purchasing power, Politicon says.

Of the ten provinces in the extended region of Norte Grande, Chaco was the one that received the highest amount ($32,340.1 million in current pesos) during the month; For its part, the least recipient was La Rioja ($13,200.0 million). In both cases, the highest and lowest allocations are given by the figures established in the law for the distribution of co-participation funds, where our province is one of the five with the highest distribution index.

The report clarifies that the October figures in ten provinces of the region (and the rest of the country as a whole) set a record in current currency.

With respect to the inter-annual variation of shipments, always detailed in real terms, ten provinces in the region showed growth but significant deviations resulted from the effects of regional CPI. Within this framework, Catamarca recorded the largest real growth (+9.2%) and Michines the smaller (+6.1%). The variation for Chaco was 6.9%, also positive.
