After a four-year absence, the Paris Motor Show will open its doors to the public from 18 to 23 October. like its slogan the revolution continues (The Revolution Continues), the purpose of the show is to highlight the current development of the automotive industry. A profound change towards electrification and hyper-connectivity. Therefore electric mobility will occupy a central place at the 2022 edition of the Paris Motor Show. Several players will be able to unveil new electric models and their information in terms of electrification. For its part, Ever-France will seek its stance to present the electric and hydrogen experience and make it understandable to visitors. It will illustrate it with concrete use cases and address a range of topics. Topics such as Electric Car, Electric City, Ecological Balance of Appliances and Charging.
Renault group implemented with several firsts
If some brands will be conspicuous by their absence, the Renault group will demonstrate the force at the Paris Motor Show. Its brands (Renault, Dacia, Alpine and Mobilize) will feature 6 world premieres. Renault will organize the event with a sporty and quirky showcar as part of the R5’s 50th anniversary celebrations. Inspired by the world of video games, this spectacular 100% electric reinterpretation will combine extraordinary excitement with high-end performance. The diamond firm will also be offering a preview of the modern electric version of the legendary Reno 4. In addition, Mobilize, the group’s brand dedicated to new forms of mobility, will introduce a production version of the Duo. A modern and closed tweezy, sporting angular and futuristic lines. An electric quadricycle designed for car sharing, but also available to individuals via subscription.
Stelantis Group with Jeep Avenger as Leader
Some of the Stelantis Group brands will skip the 2022 edition of the Mondial de l’Auto. Peugeot, on the other hand, will be present at the premiere of the new 408. The car with a unique fastback design that blends the codes of SUV, Sedan and Coupe. Peugeot will offer it in a plug-in hybrid version, but not a 100% electric version just yet. Also, to avoid being heavy on it, Peugeot will not showcase new electric versions of the 308. For 100% electric vehicles, Jeep will be the group leader at the show. The American brand will detail the Jeep Avenger, an electric SUV designed for the European market. With this small SUV offering modern and technologically advanced interiors, Jeep intends to attract new customers. Customers are looking for a compact option with the capabilities of a full-electric Jeep.
BYD launches its offensive with 3 electric models
The Paris Motor Show will also be the scene of BYD’s aggressive launch on the European market. The Chinese manufacturer already in Norway is preparing to conquer other European countries. To accomplish this feat, BYD is relying on three electric vehicles (two SUVs and a sedan), which it will showcase in Paris. The BYD Han is a sleek and sporty sedan with dual electric motors and all-wheel drive. Its battery with a capacity of 85.4 kWh gives it a fairly comfortable range of 521 km. Already marketed in Norway, the BYD Tang is a large 7-seater SUV. It combines high performance with comfort, space and safety. More compact but remarkably spacious, the BYD Atto 3 combines aesthetics and intelligence. According to BYD, this provides a versatile and attractive option for many European consumers.
Microlino for soft mobility in urban areas
Another vehicle should attract the attention of visitors to the Mondial de l’Auto, and especially the youngest. Swiss company Micro Mobility Systems will introduce the Microlino, a truly small city car that can be driven from the age of 16. This retro-looking quadricycle is inspired by the legendary Isetta of the 1950s. Like the original Isetta, the Microlino has a front door that facilitates access to its smaller cabin. It is powered by a 16 HP electric motor making 100 Nm of torque. The engine, powered by a battery with a capacity of 14.4 kWh, provides a range of 200 km. Sufficient autonomy was achieved due to the weight of the vehicle contained in only 450 kg. Its practicality and its safer side than a two-wheeler should allow the Microlino to attract a younger audience. This is even more so because it will allow him to broadcast in a more ecological way.
