Electricity bill will be so expensive next year

Electricity prices for 2023 should be disclosed by August 31.

Aargauer AEW Energie AG on Thursday announced electricity prices for next year. Families will have to pay 25% more. For an average family, that means around 220 francs per year. In 2023, electricity without VAT will cost 25.13 centimeter per kilowatt hour – about 5 cents more than before.

The reason for this is the huge increase in the purchase cost. Some of the electricity that power companies buy from the market is almost double the price compared to last year. AEW customers are still lucky. This is because they produce almost half the electricity themselves and do not have to buy it at market prices.
