Electronic devices and equipment, ready for the vote of Coahuila and Mexicans abroad

The National Electoral Institute (INE) carried out today the loading of the Electoral Enrollees Living Abroad (LNER) under the face-to-face voting modality, within the framework of the 2023 local electoral processes of Coahuila and the State. Mexico.

As a first step, the access accounts were uploaded to the Internet Electronic Voting System, as well as the corresponding account to the LNERE, which includes data on 73,309 Coahuilas and Mexicans citizens living abroad.

Subsequently, the initialization of the system and the loading of the LNERE into the identification system for in-person voting abroad was carried out specifically in eight computers, one for each of Mexico’s four consular offices in the United States (Chicago, Dallas and Chicago). two for Los Angeles) and Canada (Montreal), which will be used in the Voting Receiving Module (MRV) on election day, when Coahuila and Mexicans will be able to vote in person.

The process included the verification of each of the computer equipment and the preparation of the lists, loading and verification, as well as the configuration of the vote receiving modules and finally, the sealing of the eight computers.

The entire protocol was witnessed by the notary Irene Maldonado from the INE Electoral Office, who certified the act, which was reflected in the relevant official documents.

The process guarantees the political-electoral rights of Mexican men and women.

In this regard, Councilor Claudia Zavala, President of the Temporary Commission for the Vote of Mexicans and Mexican Residents Abroad, thanked the support provided by the Technical Unit of Computer Services and the Executive Directorate of the Federal Register of Voters, whose work is “Abroad extremely important to guarantee the electoral political rights of all Mexicans and Mexicans living in the United States.”

He added that the access accounts and uploading to the LNERE, in public and with the presence of the notary of the Electoral Office, allows the security and guarantee of the transfer of electronic devices and equipment by the personnel of the INE secured from the Institute’s facilities. Finally, it invited all Mexican citizens with valid credentials issued from abroad, who have not registered in any way, and who are from Coahuila and the State of Mexico, to go to the consulates in Chicago, Dallas and Los Angeles. .
