On February 1, the Executive Power promulgated a regulation approved by the Assembly of the Republic, which established the validity of electronic passports for ten years, and no longer stipulated for five years, for legal citizens. 31678 was made a public law in the newspaper El Peruano. For young people five years between the ages of 12 and 17 and three years of validity was granted for those under 12. It was published in the Legal Norms Acta of this newspaper, incorporating article 20-A to Decree Laws 1350, Decree Laws. on Migration.
When can you apply?

This is due to the fact that the law establishes a period of 180 days for the implementation of the rules and regulations and the adaptation of each system, but the requirements are not much different for those who want to obtain a diploma immediately; because it is still valid for five years.

What are the requirements for an electronic passport?

What are the steps?
Payment for legal processing: payment of S/98.60 online through the Págalo.pe portal with the code 01810 or the offices of Banco de la Nación or Multired agents. You must indicate your ID number at the time of payment and note it to your author.
Make a payment: Set up your account online by entering your information and password and the payment date that appears on your receipt. Choose the immigration office where you want to get your passport, choose a predetermined date and time to set it up.
Go to the agreement: go to the migration office that you chose on the day of the constitution. Bring it to you and receive your payment. Show proof of installation or screen when entering. During the appointment, your passport photo will be taken.
Collect e-diploma: Diploma is delivered on the same day of issue two hours after the procedure on average. If you can’t pick it up, you have a maximum of 60 days, because your passport will be destroyed and you’ll have to apply again.
What are the needs of minors?
The minor must personally attend the office with one of the parents and present these documents;

If you attend with a guardian, agent or representative, he must attach a copy of the document that proves the guardianship or authority, either by a court order or by a similar public instrument.

If the power of attorney is granted outside the national territory, it must be granted in the presence of the Peruvian Consulate or in the presence of a foreign and legal notary by the Peruvian Consulate and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
