For many years technology has been an ally in the treatment and diagnosis of diseases and currently, the advancement of medicine is positively influenced by this industry: from an analysis with artificial intelligence (AI) to the detection of indicators associated with diseases , refers to Vilma Chávez, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (Facisa) of the Galileo University.
According to the professional, most doctors are already expert in the use of technical equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, electrodes, formula calculation, use of algorithms, magnetic resonance imaging and tomography.
Chávez said that analysis by images is a relevant achievement to identify a patient’s pathology, without invasiveness and with certainty of the location, size, vascularization and affected organs.
For his part, Andrea Lara, director of the Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering at the aforementioned University, indicated that among the new informatics we can mention bioprinters for the evaluation of drugs without having to carry out tests on animals, as well as Augmented or virtual reality to improve the learning experience of students by installing AI and much more realistic simulators and with the ability to recreate common scenarios in a clinical setting.
Lara highlights that health monitoring is now easier through electronic devices
Wearable items that are used as accessories.
