Elias Theodoro, Veteran Warrior and Medical Cannabis Advocate, Dies at 2022 after battle with liver cancer -34

Elias Theodore, the outgoing and charismatic man who achieved his lifelong dream when he came to the UFC, died on Sunday at the age of 34 from stage 4 liver cancer. TSN Canada correspondent Aaron Bronster noted on social media that Theodore only shared his diagnosis. Close friend.

Theodoro, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, arrived at the UFC on April 16, 2014, when he defeated Sheldon Westcott by knockout in “The Ultimate Fighter Nations Finale”.

Theodoro began his mixed martial arts career with 11 consecutive victories and relinquished his decision on 10 December 2015 against Thiago Santos in Las Vegas. He was 8-3 in the UFC and was released after a decision was passed down to middleweight contender Derek Bronson.

He fought three more times on the regional circuit, winning them all with two technical knockouts. Their last meeting was a decision win over Brian Baker on December 18, 2021 in Greeley, Colorado, which reduced their record to 19–3. Unfortunately, less than 10 months later, he died.

Theodoro was known for his long hair and rough looks. She never took herself too seriously and was a “ring child” in the all-female undefeated wrestling championship.

UFC welterweight competitor and television analyst Michael Keesa was a friend of Theodoro and He said in a video posted on Twitter that Theodoro was “the type of person who would give you a shirt from the back.” In his video at the time, Chiesa was holding a folded gray sports jacket, which he said belonged to Chiesa.

Chiesa said he was immediately asked to attend a press conference, but he was not wearing a collar.

“I was telling him this and he was using” [this sports jacket]With a shirt on,” said Chisa, “he took off his jacket and gave it to me. I didn’t get a chance to return it. He was that kind of person. While I am sad like many others, he has touched the lives of many and I must remember that I am very happy to be friends with him.”

Theodoro, born on 31 May 1988 in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, was a man of diverse interests. He appeared in the third season of “The Amazing Race Canada” with his then-girlfriend Max Altamuro.

According to “The Amazing Race Wiki”, Theodoro’s motto on the show was “Don’t look foolish on TV and don’t die.”

He received a Bachelor of Arts in creative advertising from Humber College in Toronto. He was an outspoken advocate for the use of medical cannabis and became the first professional athlete to receive a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for its use when granted by the British Columbia Sports Commission on February 19, 2020. According to his personal website, he had also received a TUE in May 2021 for the same purpose.

He also worked as a businessman, actor and producer.
