Emmerdale actor Max Parker has announced that he is engaged to his former on-screen brother Chris Mochry.
Max, who played Luke Posner in the ITV soap from 2019 to 2021, got down on the beach in front of Chris for an incredibly romantic proposal.
Dubbing “The Happiest Moment” [his life], Max shared a series of adorable pictures of the couple celebrating their engagement and a video of the moment.
Chris, who played rapist Lee Posner in Emmerdale in 2019, also posted photos of the moment to Instagram and called Max a “beautiful soul.”
He said that he “loved them beyond words” and that he “had no idea” that the proposal was coming.
Max had captioned his engagement announcement: “He deserves the world, but the best I could do was promise my heart. He said yes! Happiest moment of my life. @krismoc my Fiancé “
While Chris wrote: “The beautiful soul who is my best friend asked me to marry her yesterday. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am.
“I love him beyond words, we laugh every day and I am so grateful that he came into my life.
“I had no idea at all! But it was perfect… I mean this movie says everything. Max asked my mother for any jewelery that my gran had. Mum still had mine There was a grands locket and she has made it on the inside in the middle of the engagement ring.So special.
“Thank you for the work that brought us, our incredible family and friends together. And amazing love from all of you. I’m such a lucky guy.”

The pair first met on set in 2019 while filming Victoria’s tragic rape story, which involved the duo.
Despite being brothers, neither of their characters were on screen at the same time, Chris’ character Lee was killed by Victoria’s brother Robert before Max was introduced to Luke.
Luke appeared on the ITV soap for two years and dated Victoria before leaving Dales in 2021.
Speculation surrounded the smoking pair for months before their official announcement, but both Max and Chris denied any romance rumors until they decided the time was right.
In September 2020, the on-screen brothers turned lovers while on a romantic getaway together became Instagram official.
At the time, the excited Max filmed himself and Chris cooing with each other on the plane before take-off.
Max and Chris are believed to have enjoyed several romantic dates before confirming their relationship after ‘connecting immediately’ on the Emmerdale set.
A source told The Sun at the time, “They met during filming on Kris’s last day and just hit it off.”
“They were cast as brothers and are really alike and kidding that the casting worked out great.
“The boys kept in touch after Chris ended up on the show but they spent a lot of time together over the summer.”
