- On an alp in Pushchlav, a wolf aggressively approached a human. It is reported by the Office for Hunting and Fishing Graubünden.
- The wolf followed the man for a few minutes and kept growling at him.
A wolf and a human were encountered on the Alp Grum in the Puchlav valley in Graubünden on Saturday morning. After chasing them for several minutes, the wolf growled at the man. The encounter took place between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., according to a statement by the cantonal police in Graubünden.
Wolves that grow up and live in the wild are not inherently dangerous and generally avoid contact with humans.
The affected person was traveling alone and without a dog. Now the game warden assesses the situation at the site to be able to determine why the wolf approached the human aggressively. This year two different wolves have been identified in Pushchlav.
The canton of Graubünden is in contact with the municipality and the federal government. Once the circumstances of the incident are clarified, a decision on how to proceed will be taken.
In addition, wolves that grow up in the wild and live there are not fundamentally dangerous and usually avoid contact with people, writes the Graubünden Office for Hunting and Fishing.
After two attacks on the cows, the canton of Graubünden ordered the shooting of two young wolves from the Beverin pack. The herd attacked a cow on Schamsberg last week and injured it so badly that it had to be killed. A few days back the pack had killed a cow.
