England scored 206 runs for 9 wickets in 40 overs at Bridgetown on Saturday. The overs were reduced due to rain and West Indies got the target of 188 runs in 34 overs.

 

West Indies achieved the target by losing 6 wickets in 31.4 overs. Matthew Ford, who scored 13 runs with 3 wickets, was the player of the match. Meanwhile the Caribbean captain Shai Hope, who scored 192 runs in 3 ODIs, was selected as the Player of the Series.

West Indies beat England in an ODI series after 15 years, before that in 2007 the team won the 3-match series 2-1. The team defeated England in the ODI series after 25 years on its soil. Earlier in 1998, the team won the 5 ODI series 4-1.

West Indies also won against an ICC full member team after 33 months. Earlier, the team defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in March 2021. On the other hand, the team lost 9 series against all member countries. The full member countries ie those with Test playing status.

England lost 5 wickets for 49 runs.
West Indies won the toss and chose to bat in Bridgetown. England had a bad start and the team lost 5 wickets for 49 runs. Captain Jos Buttler and Jack Crawley could not even open the account. While Phil Salt 4 and Harry Brook could only score one run. 21 year old Matthew Ford, who made his debut, took 3 wickets in just 10 overs.

Duckett’s fifty took him to a respectable mark
