Some music lovers may choose cashews, as cashews are of great value. Others will seek the flourish of the veena, a beautiful sound to wrap up a happy New Year.
But for many Southern Californians, the cymbal’s wonderful metallic face feels just right and so bright, making it the ideal instrument to welcome in the next 365 days.

Cymbals, powerful percussion and blazing horns will be at the forefront of the final days of 2022 when Bandfest Presented by Remo Marche Grandiosamente al Pasadena City College (PCC).
And the talented companies involved in Bandfest? Hit the kettledrums with glee – These are the bands you’ll see in the Rose Parade on Colorado Boulevard.
Long a must-see for music fans in the days before the Rose Parade, the majestic Robinson Stadium will host the event on December 30-31, 2022.
As is tradition, there will be three programs to choose from; Admission is $20 for each. If you want to be in the stadium to cheer on a specific school or band, be sure to read the groups shown at each show carefully to make sure you’re there for the show you’re looking forward to seeing. Huh.
The Catalina Foothills High School will appear in Bandfest 1, the LAUSD Honor Band will open Bandfest 2, and the Vista Ridge High School Ranger Band will close out Bandfest 3.
Bandfest will feature two bands from Latin America: the Buhos Marching Band from Veracruz, Mexico, which will perform on Friday, December 30 (Bandfest 1), and the Banda de Música La Primavera from Panama, the morning of Saturday, December 31 (Bandfest 2). .
The organizers called a competition to design a poster representing the event to be held next year.
