Environment has arrested a total of 189 people for causing damage in Los Hatices National Park

Santo Domingo. -A total of 189 people have been arrested, as part of the monitoring and control campaign carried out by the Ministry of the Environment and Natural Resources in Los Hatices, which causes damage in the national park, which is used for the collection of water that feeds the rivers There is strategic and underground sources from different areas.

Detachments of the National Environmental Protection Service (SENPA) placed 180 Haitians at the disposal of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), while nine Dominicans were handed over to prosecutors attached to the Special Attorney for the Defense of the Environment and Natural Resources (Prodemeren).

The Environment Minister, Miguel Serra Hatton, made a comprehensive supervision visit to Los Hatice on Thursday to evaluate the results of the operation carried out with the state security agencies under the name of Los Hatice Interagency Joint Task Force (FTCIH). ) 2023.

According to the latest report on the operation, the army has destroyed 68 cones of unscrupulous citizens and foreigners damaging the park in violation of environmental law, as well as 26 barbed wire fences and 72 shacks.
