Eroski has expanded his humanitarian commitment to help those affected in Libya

Eroski has strengthened its commitment to solidarity by expanding the emergency campaign aimed at supporting the victims of the devastating floods in Libya. This action joins the recently launched initiative to support people affected by the earthquake in Morocco. Once again, Eroski calls on the generosity of its customers, offering them the opportunity to make voluntary donations when passing through the checkout line, with the freedom to choose the amount they want to contribute.

In Libya, rescue teams are working tirelessly to recover and bury flood victims in Derna, with the goal of preventing the tragedy from worsening with the health crisis. Thousands died in the flood, and many people remain missing.

As part of its humanitarian commitment, Eroski will not only channel the donations given by its clients to the affected population through the Red Cross, but also can increase the collection of additional contributions. This act of solidarity is added to the 10 million euros allocated by the group every year to support various social causes.

In previous campaigns, Eroski, together with its clients and the Eroski Foundation, donated more than half a million euros to help victims of natural disasters and other humanitarian crises in different parts of the world. Some of the beneficiary destinations include Haiti (2010 and 2016), Lorca – Murcia (2011), Philippines (2013), Nepal (2015), Syria (2015), Mallorca (2018), La Palma (2020) and the crisis in Ukraine (2022). This year, the aid went to the populations affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. Currently, Eroski keeps two aid campaigns active, one for Morocco and one for Libya, which shows his continued commitment to unity and support for those who need it most.
