This month people have checked out the indie sled trend, but what exactly is it and are Gen Z really getting on board?

What are people saying about the indie sled?
An overall look through the reactions on Twitter suggests that people are finding the indie sled trend rather comical, if not even a little nostalgic, as most people who participated in the indie era are now in their mid-30s and 40s. Huh.

Who came up with the indie sled?
According to Vogue, the trend was coined in late 2021 by Mandy Lee — a TikTok trend forecaster who goes by the name @OldLoserInBrooklyn. She said: “I think that with the indie sled subculture, 15 years ago, community, art and music were so powerful – that’s what brings people together. I think that distinctive elements, more than fashion, will become prevalent, As well as the style of photography, of course.” However, the term is scattered all over the Internet, not unlike the term indie landfill.
