The incident of fire in electric two-wheeler has come to the fore again. This time an electric scooter caught fire at an e-bike showroom in Pune, Maharashtra. In this incident, 7 electric bikes kept in the showroom were burnt to ashes. All these bikes were installed for charging. However, there is no report of any casualty in this incident. According to ANI, the incident took place at an e-bike showroom located near Gangadham area of Market Yard in Pune, Maharashtra.
An official of the fire brigade department said the e-bike was plugged in for charging. The overcharge caused a short circuit, which led to a fire and burnt 7 bikes. He said, we got a call around eight o’clock in the night. With the help of four fire brigade vehicles, we were able to douse the fire quickly.

There have been many incidents of electric two-wheelers catching fire
>> On April 30, an Okinawa electric scooter caught fire in Hosur, an industrial hub in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district. In this incident, the scooter rider Satish Kumar saved himself by jumping from the scooter. On the way, others tried to douse the fire of the scooter, but by then the fire was completely burnt to ashes.
>> On April 26, Dr. Prithviraj, a resident of Tamil Nadu, poured petrol and set his OLA S1 Pro scooter on fire. Prithviraj says his scooter stops working after walking 44 km. Enraged by this, he poured petrol on the scooter and set it on fire. The incident took place near Ambu Bypass Road in Tamil Nadu.
>> In April, an 80-year-old man, B Ramaswamy, died of EV in Telangana’s Nizamabad town. His PureEV e-scooter’s battery exploded after being charged overnight. The electric scooter was charged at 12.30 p.m. Then there was an explosion at 4 am. Several members of the family were also injured while fighting the fire.
>> The first incident of EV catching fire was reported on March 26. At that time a blue OLA S1 Pro electric scooter parked on the roadside in Pune caught fire. A video of fire and smoke from the battery compartment of the scooter has gone viral.

6 things to keep in mind while using an electric two wheeler
1. Outdoor area where to charge two-wheeler battery. Do not place it on a cloth or wooden surface.
2. Do not leave the battery on charge overnight. Charge while you’re awake. Stop charging while sleeping.
3. Avoid charging the e-vehicle if it is wet with water. Keep charging even after drying and cleaning thoroughly.
4. Do not ignore even the slightest smell while driving. Stop the car immediately and open the seat first. so that the internal heat comes out.
5. Also avoid getting a Chinese manufacturer car. Instead, visit the vehicles being built in our factory.
6. Keep car insurance up to date. Try to renew it a week before it expires.
