Several manufacturers have devices that are used at the enterprise level. For example, Lenovo has its ThinkPad, HP has its EliteBook and ASUS has its ExpertBook, and it is the latter that we will talk about today. Well, it turns out we managed to access the new one ASUS ExpertBook B9 OLED for a while, the business team that will arrive in our country very soon.
Let’s not forget that this laptop was unveiled earlier this year during CES 2023.
Let’s get to our first impressions!
At first glance we are faced with one Small format laptop thanks to its 14 inch screen. As far as design is concerned, the notebook has one very sober blue color, pleasant and this proves to be characteristic of several ASUS notebooks such as the ZenBook series. Of course, it’s prone to finger stains, so we’re faced with that a fingerprint magnet.
By taking it with our hands The device is very light, specifically it weighs 990 grams. Yes, less than 1 kilogram, which is amazing. The advantage of a super compact device lies in this proves to be very portable and it doesn’t bother at all in a bag or backpack.
If we talk about manufacturing, The laptop is made of high quality materials. For example, the chassis is made of a magnesium-lithium alloy. And being light does not equate to fragility as it has military certification. In the hands it feels solid and well made In fact, the hinge is responsible for correctly fixing the screen.
When we open the device, The first thing that catches your attention is the screen. The ASUS ExpertBook B9 now includes a OLED panel with WQXGA+ resolution (2,880 x 1,800). This is without a doubt the best type of panel that we can find in an electronic device, be it a TV, a phone, a tablet or as in this case a laptop. We will leave the photo of what the screen looks like for our future test, all I can tell you is that it is sensational.
In this device we usually find powerful features. And this is no small thing, because for business use we cannot suffer a performance penalty without ignoring other important elements such as security.
The ASUS ExpertBook B9 OLED has one 13th Generation Intel Core i7 processor. It is the i7-1355U with 10 cores and reaches up to 5.0 GHz, not bad and super powerful for an ultrabook. The team comes with you 32GB LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD storage in M.2 PCIe 4.0 format. With these properties it is simply a sphere, but we will go into detail about how it behaves later in our full analysis.
Since it is business-oriented, security comes first. To protect access to data on the laptop It has an FHD webcam with an infrared sensor for facial recognition. Like it has a fingerprint reader located on the right above the power button. Both items are compatible with Windows Hello.
Finally, The Ultrabook has a full selection of ports. These include 2 USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4, 1 HDMI 2.1, 1 USB-A, 1 3.5 mm jack combination and 1 micro HDMI for taking out an RJ45, luckily the adapter is included in the delivery.
Luckily, today’s laptops charge via USB-C, and this laptop is no exception comes with a 65W charger. If the battery is empty and we don’t have a power outlet nearby, we can definitely use a power bank with fast charging, like one from an Asian brand with a power of 50W.
