Fisker reports it has entered the next phase of construction on its Ocean electric SUV
After announcing the first delivery of its Fisker Ocean electric SUV to Europe, the company has announced that it has entered the “next phase of construction” for its first electric car. According to Fisker, it is expected that the next phase of deliveries of ‘One’, the launch edition of Fisker Ocean, will begin in Europe and the United States next June.
Customers included in the Fisker Ocean One, to be produced in May, are the first units bound for the United States for distribution and marketing purposes, which are expected to arrive in June. Henrik Fisker, CEO of Fisker, said:
“In keeping with our brand commitment, we will pay meticulous attention to detail of each vehicle to ensure a great customer experience as they are built for marketing purposes such as our first volume deliveries and test drives.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming deliveries for our next customers, and we’ll let our first customers know about the schedule soon as we’re still finalizing the schedule.”
The Fisker Ocean Extreme and One models are expected to receive EPA scope and regulatory approval later this month. According to the brand, both the variants offer a range of up to 707 kms under the WLTP cycle.
Fisker expects to gradually increase production during May and plans to manufacture between 1,400 and 1,700 vehicles by the end of June. The company plans to increase production during the third quarter of 2023 to support the delivery rollout in the rest of its global launch markets and to support its 2023 forecast of 32,000–36,000 vehicles.
It appears that production of the Fisker Ocean is starting to pick up speed, with the company continuing to develop the so-called Fisker Pier, the company’s affordable electric vehicle that is expected to hit the market in 2025.
